Other minor collections include animal heads and horns, treated as furnishing rather than natural history,
petwer and brass (around 25% stored as digital images),
Military Medals (less than 20% stored as digital images),
Arms and Armour (no digital images in August 2016),
General Scarlett collection
There is a small collection of antique books and an archive of local manuscripts and printed material amounting to over 2,000 individual items. There are also sizeable collections of photographs (over 3,000) and postcards (approaching 1,800).
These collections have all been recorded in the Modes collection management system but the archive, photographs and postcard collections are too large to be handled by this viewer when used with mobile devices. A limited version of the documents archive is available with extracts mainly relating to other collections and to Towneley Hall itself. By August 2016, less than 5% of the photographs had been stored as digitally images and a subset of these photographs is available.
